“Portadora de Sueños is a mixed media collage that reflects on matriarchal lineages, childhood, dreams, cyclical timelines and the interconnectiveness of family. Through the use of collage, I assemble a multitude of dispersed memories from differentiating moments into a curated space of integration and metamorphosis. Forging the strength of the connection I have to this piece is performance. I give my body and blood to my work. I offer pieces of myself to highlight the union of art to body and mind, these sacred performances are tender openings. Ritual enriches my gestures across the past, present and future.Working with this piece unfolded the ways in which family, memory, dreams and the expansiveness of the land around me build foundational structures around my space.”
